Greetings Wagait Beach residents and friends.

Walk to School Day is underway as I write this – and what a resounding success! Approximately 45 Wagait schoolkids (and a few keen parents) hopped off the bus a lot earlier than usual and made the annual trek to the jetty where a fully catered breakfast awaited them. A great big thanks to Chis and Sue Chaplin from the Wagait Beach Supermarket for their generous support in catering the breakfast. Also thanks to Wagait Shire Council staff Pam, Robyn, Angela, Robbo and Gaz for all of the organising, set up and delivery. Just another example of why Wagait is a wonderful place for kids to grow up!

Wagait Shire Council By-election is coming up. Keep your eye on local noticeboards for announcements. Nominations open June 6. Take the time to consider how you would like to contribute to the future of our beloved community. The election will be held on Saturday June 28 (same day as the highly anticipated Mandorah Ukulele and Folk Festival – so ensure you get your vote in before heading down to the Cox Club for festivities!).

As always, Council welcomes feedback regarding all aspects of our operations, so please be encouraged to send us an email, write a letter or drop in!

Yours in community.
