WHERE ARE WE?

By Road

Wagait Beach is located on the Cox Peninsula, 129km (90 minutes) from Darwin City via road. The predominantly single lane carriageway of Cox Peninsula Road gentle curves through picturesque sub-tropical bushland into coastal scrubland. The journey is a common route for weekend recreational motorists. Notable stops along the way include the Berry Springs Waterhole, the Territory Wildlife Park and the Blackmore River Conservation Reserve.

By Sea

An alternate route is via the Sealink NT Mandorah Darwin ferry. The relaxing 15-minute trip regularly commutes from Cullen Bay to Mandorah Jetty across Darwin Harbour. The ferry operates 365 days per year, offering 89 return services per week to & from Mandorah. The Sealink ferry is equipped with toilets, a kiosk, air-conditioned cabins, outside seating and a friendly helpful crew. Reasonable fare discounts are available for seniors, children and families. Senior residents of Wagait Beach travel free. A courtesy bus service is provided to the Cox Country Club during club trading hours with travel & meal packages available. For Darwin locals and tourists alike this provides great value for a day trip.
